Neither author is better. Each have equal attributes. I laugh at TP and DNA for completely different reasons, sometimes exactly the same reasons and other times no reason at all.

You can't compare the two writers. Adams was a good writer, Pratchett is a good writer. I like them both. I enjoy their work equally, and why not?

Absolutely, it's not fair to have to choose a better. They're both fantastic in their own ways! biggrin

However, if I had to choose between Death and Marvin for a travelling companion, it'd have to be Death. At least he tries his best to shake off his depressing image...!

Posted Sep 9, 2003 by Wildman - I'm not really mad, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!
Couldn't agree more!

Just thinking that my idea of a perfect evening would likely be - a cosy hostelry with a few glasses of something warming and listening to DNA and TP discussing Life, both Universes and Everything. Include a tape recorder in the specifications and I could make enough to retire immediately biggrin .

I also couln't choose between the two. But I would prefer living on Discworld, have Death(Or Susan if I could choose her) and luggage(I'm kind of hyperactive, so tea wouldn't be a good idea) traveling with me and I kind of like turtles(And rats, but they are not mice). But I would never ever think of drinking something in Ankh Morpork.

I agree...however it's hard because Terry Pratchett is such a prolific writer.
