Very good, an interesting part of history, thank you.

But *front and back*? My history asks you change it to *fore and aft* or *bow and stern*.

That wording was carefully chosen to make the entry more clearly understood without adding even more footnotes. I tend to use enough 'nautical terms' to qualify as a foreign language biggrin If I over simplified that passage for you I am sorry, but I really wanted the story to be clear to readers who have never read a sea story before.
