Posted Jul 31, 2003 by Almighty Tim In the Harry Potter books (Goblet of Fire, specifically) there is a musical group known as The Weird Sisters. Is it possible that Ms Rowling included this as an homage to this wonderful series of books?

Posted Jul 31, 2003 by Count Zero Actually in both cases the authors are paying to homage to Big Daddy Bill Shakespeare. The Weird Sisters are the three witches in the forest that fortell Macbeth of his destiny:
Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
And all that.
