Surely it was the scourge of Robert Redford's character? Paul Newman didn't go near a roulette table in The Sting

Posted Aug 13, 2003 by Pimms Lettuce I to your superior knowledge. I was not aware there was a book (of the film), or recall that Newman's character's gambling problem was roulette related - no visual flashback to illuminate me. I only remembered Redford's character losing his cash to a crooked roulette table where subtle pins were used to prevent the ball landing in the wrong numbers.

The book is by Robert Weverka (I think it's spelled like that), and is pretty much a word-for-word retread of the film.
Now I re-read the entry, though, I do find Redford springing to mind.
