Posted Aug 16, 2003 by Researcher 239103 What exactly is this "Dalleer" in the weird poem "The ballad of grimly moer", would someone care to explain ?

Posted Oct 12, 2003 by Recumbentman I think somewhere between verses 200 and 400 the Warlock appears with a victim he's about to do nasty things to; this victim is called the Fid Dalleer, "but one without a fiddle". The reference is transparent, to one of the main contributors, the Snockerty Friddle, who is in fact responsible for this potted version of the epic (A1070786).
Look out, it seems more instalments may be about to be unloaded into F19585?thread=283765 the place it all began. Chaiwallah's last post was on the 6th of August but I feel he is gestating some more . . . watch that space!

Posted Oct 13, 2003 by Recumbentman Hello Snockerty! And congratulations on a masterful piece of edition. I only wish you'd take out the VIEWER tag (in about verse 82); the true story is "He'd quote The Snockerty Friddle and that finally did the trick"

Posted Nov 20, 2003 by Recumbentman I've made a home copy with line numbers; it's shortly going to hit ten thousand (if it hasn't actually ground to a halt).
That's an ill eagle act! is by my count line 9729 . . . and there's moer . . .

Posted Jun 17, 2006 by Kittybriton "The plot? what rot! I know it not!" Young Syd expostulated, Such things were not important when this epic was created
Then seizing up his nerdling rod he wrote, in lines of fire, "Let nothing halt the Muse's hand. Who dares call me a Lyre?"
