Star Trek: Voyager solved the mystery in the season 1 closing episode "The 37s". Earhart and Noonan were... abducted by aliens! laugh Surprised this wasn't mentioned...

that was a great episode. I saw it last night. It made me seek out the story of amelia earhart on the net. very interesting indeed. and pretty good with the details for te most part.
