PR comments? Balance?

Intresting read smiley
Having read this I was keen to see what comments were made in PR, but was unable to discover the PR version - where is the thread?

I admit I am skeptical of numerology. Being unfamiliar with the Quran I can't personally comment on the scholarship that has calculated the patterns noted, but the land/water comparison near the end strikes me as particularly flimsy (I believe there is a typo in the equations too) since the proportion of the earth's surface covered in water is not static.

If all of Earth's global ice melted and went into the oceans and seas, sea levels would increase by over 80m, or if there was another ice-age (which some geologists assert is the more 'normal' situation for Earth) sea levels would fall. Both of these would affect the surface land/water proportions. But as you make clear these last "concordance comparisons" (if I may call them that) are not as central to your argument as the bits about 19.

I found http://answering-islam.org/Nehls/Ask/number19.html an interesting counter to the '19' numerology of Ahmed Deedat and Dr. Rashad Khalifa, but since you don't provide your sources I'm not sure if this is answering the same points.

Was there no call for balancing the numerology with skepticism of it in PR?

PR threads are moved to the original entry (the Edited version is a copy of that original).

Hi Sam smiley
I knew that, but the h2g2 search didn't turn up the original entry, and it wasn't listed on the author's space. Your link appears to go to an entry on Homer's Odyssey.

Oops! blush Yes you're quite right! Here's the correct thread:

The reason you can't see the original entry is that the author is on pre-moderation (although I believe this is soon to be lifted). He may have recently added something to the original, hence it is currently hidden awaiting moderation.
