I hated gym in middle school because I don't think it really applies to us people who aren't destined to become famous athletes then get investigated for steriod usage.
But luckily i joined an IB magnet program and gym and LMS aren't required. Unfortunatly I didn't know this and took them both over the summer before freshman year.
So another way to dodge gym is to get into the right kind of magnet program.
