| Posted Sep 23, 2009 by jimcracker7[Time for the second lightening strike] On friday last, the estate was told, that one of the long main, offroads would be redone. and it would take three days. - So a note was posted to say that there would be a temp stop, to accomidate on the monday, just gone. - Comes monday, no temp stop, another note, we have to walk, off the estate to get the bus, over half a mile away. - So myself and others we encounter from stop to stop, head for the point where the bus will pick us up. - When i got back home, i rang the enquires, was put to a department, who said its wasnt them, that the company, first bus, said they wouldnt detoure the extra distance to pick up from the estate, as, "get this", it would put 10 to 15mins on the journey. - i didnt go out yesterday, so i didnt know that the man at the complaints had arranged, seperate from the, first bus, a small shuttle service, "get this", to the bus half a mile away, because the first bus, still refused to do the extra into the estate. - So now, a shuttle will be used for the next three weeks, while the road is redone. but from 10-15am till 3-00pm only. - The first bus are saying, its more than their jobs worth, to extend the journey, and rearrange the times. - The fact that the buses are nearly always 15mins late, or so taken off in the afternoon.is neither here or there. - The estate as a majority of old and disabled persons, that couldnt have walked the distance to get the first bus, it took someone else to bridge the gap. - But you can bet the first bus will, before the end of the year, raise the fares, im glad i have a bus pass. jim

Posted Sep 24, 2009 by jimcracker7[Time for the second lightening strike] hi prof - would be pointless, the company can argue the extra will cause more probs with people waiting for buses. - and the shuttle as sort of solved the problem, letting the first bus off the hook. jim

Posted Sep 24, 2009 by jimcracker7[Time for the second lightening strike] now there is the "shuttle" to offset the long road, to rejoin the main first bus, no one will want to rock the boat, - it will only be till the side road as been redone, over the next two weeks now. jim
