Long/short vowels - an important case!
Posted Jul 22, 2003 by Namaste
With regard to the importance of long/short vowel sounds I quote this passage from A Midsummer Night's Dream:

"In this moment so it came to pass
Titania waked and starightway loved an ass"

The trick is to say it with short vowels first then long vowels and still make it rhyme.

Had hysterics in my speech and drama lessons over this one!
