Posted Feb 21, 2003 by Jim Lynn. Ten Glorious Years... "Dana Andrews said prunes Gave him the runes and passing them caused quite a thrill"
It's been a while since I listened, but I'm almost certain this line should read:
"Dana Andrews said prunes Gave him the runes and passing them used lots of skills"
which, apart from anything else, retains the rhyme scheme with 'hills' and 'kills' in the previous lines.

Posted Feb 21, 2003 by Count Zero You know... come to think of it I always heard "used lots of skills". In our Rocky Horror the common retort to that line was "Yay! Skills!". I'll watch my DVD later to check. I'm not saying that the lyrics aren't "caused quite a thrill", just what we heard. The line definetly makes more sense that way. Hmmm Maybe it was the audience that yelled "used lots of skills" Definetly going to give it another listen.
BTW Excellent article

or just compare two google searches: http://tinylink.com/?owF9zHixgD (searching for "rocky horror" "science fiction double feature" "used lots of skills")
and
http://tinylink.com/?CXiMuOsOnx (searching for "rocky horror" "science fiction double feature" "caused quite a thrill")
"listened to numerous times in various forms"
Maybe you listened to a recording of a stage show cast recording which used a different lyric. The movie definitely 'uses lots of skills'.
