The fact is that this genocide has been committed as a result of decades of torture and oppression. It is by no means a 'one-night-decision'.
The aim was to create a Turkish nation from the remaining Muslim ethnicities (Yoruks, Turkmanos, Circasseans, Albanians, muslimized Greeks, Slavic muslims, Romans, Lazes, Georgians etc) after the native Christians (Greeks, Pontussians, Assyrians, Armenians mainly).
I would have said except the Kurds who lived on high mountains of Kurdistan and had an old strong culture and identity, the nation-creation of the Turks have been succeeded unfortunately.
