What about if a female part of the species asks a male part of the species out on a date, should the woman still expect the man to pay for dinner and the like?

I had a cat who tried to do this. It didn't work out well for her at all.
Anyway, maybe she shouldn't necessarily expect him to do it, but she could accept graciously if he does.
