Posted Oct 13, 2002 by Dylmts If you own a bread maker then the idea is simple, if not then the idea is simple in form but can be as complicated as an hour in the Complex time thingy scale.
We all know that tomatoes don't sit well in sandwiches, the bread goes soggy. So make dried tomato bread and add what you like in the sandwich, you get the tomato flavour and no soggyness. Just think of the possiblilities now.

Posted Oct 16, 2002 by Owen Hollands You can make non-soggy tomato sandwiches.
I saw this on a TV show, it sounds silly, but it seems to work.
Get two pieces of paper towel. As you slice your tomato, put the slices onto one of the paper towels, and then put the second paper towel on top, and pat down. It seems to remove the free water that makes the sandwich soggy, without drying out the tomato too much and ruining the taste.
I know it sounds strange, but try it.

But doesn't the paper-towel get stuck between your teeth when you bite through it?

Posted Oct 17, 2002 by Researcher PH Balance Or you can keep the tomato and lettuce in a separate baggy or compartment (if you have a sandwich tuppeware thingy). Then if you want to be real complicated, you can put a bit of mayonaise in a baggy and when you're ready to make your sandwich, just make sure all the mayo is in one corner and snip a small piece of the corner to squeeze the mayo onto your sandwich-or steal a bunch of mayonaise packages next time you go to a fast-food place.
