An ambrosial pint, indeed.
I once shocked the regulars by drinking pint for pint what my chap had. Apparently this is unheard of for ladies in the Diggers.
It's not that long ago that women weren't even allowed in there, come to think of it.
A true 'howff', exactly what a proper pub should be like.

Couldn't agree more with your last statement there. If I want to play a fruit machine, I'll go to an arcade; if I want to listen to music I'll go to a disco. But if I go to a pub I prefer to drink a nice pint and have a decent conversation without having to shout.
