ConservativeBill Cash is to visit Whiston Village Hall on Friday 3rd March 2006, at 7pm when he will listen to views and concerns expressed by residents about the proposed 38 hectare extension to the WBB Moneystone Quarry situated at Whiston.
All local residents are invited to express their views. Tea and biscuits will be provided at the close of the meeting.
The proposed extension to the Quarry situated in and alongside the stunning Churnet Valley will devastate the area. The work will progress for some 15 years. The proposed reinstatement of the land after that period will never re-capture the beautiful natural scenery that is present there now.
A walk of the proposed boundary took place on Saturday 25th February 2006. It was well attended by some 80 walkers, to show exactly the area that will be scarred forever.
It is understood that a formal planning application will be placed before Staffordshire County Council some time in April 2006
