After twins Ross and Norris McWhirter had published a Book of world records, for Guinness1. The BBC approached them with the idea of putting some of the best

The Telvision show started in 1972 and was hosted by Roy Castle along with with the twins answering questions put to them by the studio audience, they had no idea what they were going to be asked. They also featured live record attempts in the studio, later some of these occured on outside broadcasts beamed into the studio.

It was voted the 65th Greatest Children's Television programme in channel 4's poll in 2001.
