It's awards season again. The main British film awards ceremony, the BAFTAs, took place in London on 8 February and the American Academy Awards take place on 22 February.
The American Academy Awards (or 'Oscars') are seen as the biggest prize in cinema, but a few big names managed to have Oscar-free careers. Admittedly the iconic James Dean's early death probably denied him Oscar glory, but Harrison Ford, despite having starred in both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films hasn't been honoured by the Academy to date.
Similarly, the Award eluded both the legendary Richard Burton, who was nominated seven times without a win. Peter O'Toole topped this in 2006 when he yet again failed to pick up the award for Best Main Actor in a Leading Role. O'Toole was recognised with an Academy Honorary Award in 2003, but it wasn't for a specific film.
So, what we'd like to know this week is this:
Who do you think really deserves an award?
Who would be honoured this year if you were handing out the gongs?
Which awards do you think were most deserved?
Which actors do you think are overrated?
What are the greatest acting performances ever (rewarded or otherwise)?
Do you think awards mean anything?
