Micronesia consists of over 2,000 islands spread over 3 milllion square miles of the Pacifc Ocean. This tremendous area offers Micronesia more maritime claims than any other nation.

Now a U.S. Protectorate Micronesia's island States self-govern with many ties to the United States.
