Usually you get a family and you’re stuck with it. Very few of them function properly although politicians still believe they’re effective (but then politicians believe heavy bombing and spin-doctors are effective so what do they know?) Some Japanese however have an interesting new take on it. If you’re not happy with the family members you already have you can rent more from an agency: a sister or grandchild for example could be yours for as much (or as little) as $500 an hour. As Charlie Sheen said so aptly of prostitutes: 'You don't pay them to stay the night. You pay them to leave the next morning.'
