'Waste not, want not' seems a not unreasonable mantra to apply to many aspects of our lives – not least the relatively few hours we each get to spend on this planet. So why do many of us seem to waste so much time doing, well, nothing in particular? Whether it's watching loads of telly, idling in the bath or engaging in a lot of small-talk, most of us will at some time feel a pang of guilt that we could be doing something more constructive.
As you'll no doubt know, we spend up to a third of our existence asleep - but that counts as essential to our wellbeing. And, no, procreation and its many variants don't count here. Trawling around hundreds of car boot sales to add to our woolly toilet roll holder collection does. So what we want to know this week is: what do you waste an unreasonable amount of time doing, and why?
Do certain types of people waste more time than others – and are you one of them?
Maybe you believe no time is ever wasted?
Is there something that you do, a hobby for instance, that aborbs a lot of your time? Do you have any control of this pursuit of yours?
Do you ever wish you were wasting time doing something else?
Are you a master in the venerable art of procrastination? Are you procrasting right now? What are you putting off doing?
Do you waste time on h2g2? Or is it time well spent?
