A Scene from 'Eastenders': Billy and Honey Mitchell with their new-born baby Janet.

There are lots of bullet points in this week's Talking Point, lots of questions for you to have a good think about, so we won't waffle on too much here except to state that we'd really like to know what makes you feel proud.

Who or what brings a tear to your eye, makes you thrust out your chest, stand up straight and meet the world as an equal? What gives you a sense of pride?

  • What single thing in your life are you most proud of?

  • Is there something that you want to do, that you haven't done yet, that you know will give you an enormous feeling of pride, like finally writing that novel or learning a new language?

  • What physical characteristics of your own are you most proud of?

  • What personality trait are you most proud of?

  • Is there anything that you've done (or do) that gives you a sense of pride?

  • Do you think that in today's consumer, throw-away culture people generally 'take less pride' in stuff?

  • Does your family or indivdual members of your family fill you with a bursting sense of pride? Or is the opposite true?!

  • Are you proud of where you come from or where you live?

  • Do you belong to an organisation or a club that you feel really proud of? Are you proud of your team, whatever that team may be?

  • Does you day job make you feel proud? Or does it just pay the bills and it's other 'extra-curricular' stuff that gives you a sense of achievment and satisfaction?

  • Does pride really come before a fall? Can you illustrate this point with any anecdotes from your own life?

  • Can you describe what it's like to feel proud? It's a sense of satisfaction but at the same time it's not quite being self-satisfied or boastful. How does it feel?
