The Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer is a two-day, 60 km walk through the neighbourhoods of London, taking place 23-25 September 2005. All proceeds benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer, funding vital breast cancer research and educational programmes.

I sadly lost my Mum 15 years ago to cancer - it wasn't breast cancer but was devastating all the same. I have pledged to raise as much money and awareness as I can to support cancer research in the future - in memory of my Mum, for my sisters and my daughters, my Dad, my husband, my brothers and my sons, and all my dear friends.

One of my best friends recently had to deal with the threat of breast cancer affecting her mother - thankfully she survived - but to see the pain that the family had to endure has spurred me on to bigger and better fund raising opportunities.
