The Bombing of LeytonstoneLeytonstone, LondonI was indoors when the bombing started with my baby and my mother. When the all clear was called I got out from under the table. All the windows were broken and we found that my grandfather, who was ninety, was out in the garden when the bomb was dropped. He should have been indoors. We went to look for him and he was in the middle of the garden. I went to dig him out and some people came and helped me. All that was wrong with my grandfather was a broken ankle and he was taken to hospital. My mother was blind in one eye for a little while after from bits flying under the table. All the window frames had come through. There was a bus stop outside and all the people waiting got killed.
