I drive a 4x4, not because I want to add to the pollution in the enviroment but because I am the fulltime carer for my disabled sister and my father is also disabled. I am also a day service manager for a disabled organisation. A 4x4 is the only car that I was able to purchase which was able to store certain specialised equipment in eg. wheelchairs, motorised scooters, walking frames, sesnory equipment etc. to carry out my care duties. As my sister is also has poor muscles which are deterioating quite rapidly, My 4x4 is the only vehicle she was able to get in and out of independantly without much trouble. When I was looking to purchase my vehicle I looked at hatchbacks, people carriers & estates all of which are unsuitable so people who are saying 4 wheel drives should not be on the road should get to know the full picture before they make assumptions.
