A metal utensil that makes garlic cloves into little bits by exerting pressure on the clove and forcing it through some holes. The odd thing thing about the garlic press is that it should be called a garlic crush, because it crushes garlic. A trouser press puts nice creases in trousers. A garlic press does not put nice creases in garlic.

A garlic press is always there to remind you of the time you fancied yourself as a chef and convinced yourself that the most important part of being a chef is having very shiny stainless steel utensils. Consequently all it does is mock you while you're heating up frozen lasagnes.

Just think, at least you didn't buy a pasta maker.
