A female member of a religious order. Historically these poor women were painted red and floated on a small platform at sea for hours on end to mark the right side of a channel leading into a harbour. In modern times, however, Nunbouys as they are called, are made from plastic and metal, and the Nuns themselves are forced to find other methods by which to prove their faith.
