  1. A small fish that can live in ear canals, translating thought matrices enabling the "wearer" or "host" to understand any alien language. Said to disprove the existence of God, but I think He was double-bluffing.
  2. On Earth, the name is used for a web site (http://babelfish.altavista.com) that attempts, with moderate success, to translate between a few Earth languages in written form.
