dyspraxia and dyslexia(permalink)

Posted by merseymuppet on Sunday, 3rd September 2006 Last updated Tuesday, 5th September 2006
I have a 10 year old son, who suffers from Dyspraxia and Dyslexia, he currently attends a main stream school. He is in his final year at Junior School, and since he was diagnosed with these conditions he has little help from the school, he currently has a writing and reading age of 6 years, yet the school think this is acceptable, despite constant meetings with class teachers and the Headmaster, I feel as if I am going round in circles. I pay for him to attend The Dyslexia Institute in Allerton on a Saturday, for one hour, at a cost of £22.00, this is the only place that I can find who will help him. Does anybody else have these problems? I would appreciate any feedback, and perhaps there is someone who may be able to share their information with me. Many thanks.

Net Cherry.
