Freelance Screenwriter, Editor, Director and Lecturer whose willing to travel. As a Editor, I've cut a variety of programs from corporates to pop promos but my main interest is cutting short drama films and have cut projects that have been supported by the Film Council, Film Four and various regional broadcasters. As a screenwriter, I have had my work produced both here and in the States and have recieved support from DNA Films and First Film Foundation. In 2002, I was one of the top 50 finalists in the Paramount Studio sponsored Chesterfield Writers Film Project. I have a number of projects in development and have recently been selected for the Lighthouse/Skillset Guiding Light scheme where I am being mentored by Mark Peploe (The Last Emperor, The Passenger). Last year my radio docu-drama, Wimmy Road, was broadcast as the Afternoon play on BBC Radio 4 and I am currently pitching more ideas. I have recently completed my last short film, The Applicant, which starred Parvez Qadir ("Rome", "All or Nothing") and Clare McGlinn ("The Cops", "Coronation Street"). The film was shot by Slamdance award winning cinematographer Philip Robertson ("Frozen") and is currently being sent out to film festival worldwide. My previous film, Scribble, has been screened at various film festivals around the world whilst my first short film, Lifters, was shot on location in New Mexico and produced by the Digital Filmmaking Institute. A DVD showreel is available on request. I lecture in editing on the foundation year course at Leeds Met University and am a visiting lecturer at the Escula Internacional Cine y TV in Cuba. I have also taught at TS2K and overseen short film production workshops at Bolton Institute (now Bolton University). More recently I have overseen the script development and post-production of a series of short films for the British Council. The "I, Belong" scheme involved working with five groups of filmmakers in Pakistan who adapted a short story from a new Pakistani writer. In Uzbekistan, I worked with five directors in Tashkent on the "Film ON" scheme where they developed and made five original short films with a view of screening them at film festivals and further developing their craft. ambitions
