He was born on in the North East of England, after leaving school he worked in a variety of roles before studying film at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle. His Graduation film GETTING THERE was well received picking up several awards. In 2003 he made FENDER BENDER, which was shot in Estonia. It screened at over forty international film festivals and has received several awards and nominations including the PRIX U.I.P. Best European Short Film Award at Tampere International Film Festival in 2004. In 2006 he made THE MAKING OF PARTS which premiered in Competition at 63. Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the PRIX U.I.P. Best European Short Film Award. It has since received more awards and has screened at over sixty five international film festivals. He is currently developing several long and short form projects and completed four documentaries for Channel4 in 2007. His new film JADE premiered in Competition at 59th Berlinale International Film Festival 2009 where it was awarded the Silver Bear. my links
