Tom Parkinson – Animation Director Born in Ipswich 1975, Tom studied Fine Art at Bristol U.W.E. His first film “The Adventures of Big Jeff”, a 90-second animation starring a naked Australian on roller-skates, was runner-up in the ‘Depict!’ competition at Brief Encounters 2001. His second film “La Fille avec les Oreilles du Jambon” a 90-second short about a young girl with ears made of bacon, was short-listed at the same event in 2002 and went on to be screened at festivals throughout Europe before being selected for the Film Council’s “Best of British” festival showreel. In 2004 Tom was commissioned by South West Screen for their “Digital Shorts” scheme, resulting in “Ramble On”, a film about a Welsh hill-walkers nightmare. Tom has been at Aardman Animations since 2000 working his way up from receptionist/runner, to Animator, to Writer/Director. In 2005, “The Adventures of Big Jeff” was released by Aardman as a mobile phone series. Tom is currently involved in the creation and development of new series ideas both for Broadcast and New Media.
