Mark Beynon is an author, historian and screenwriter.

His first novel, The Devil’s Plague, was published by Abaddon Books in 2007. More recently, he has compiled and edited Scrimgeour’s Small Scribbling Diary – a collection of First World War diaries and letters for Anova Books – which was named by the Independent on Sunday as one of the best military history titles of 2008 and was nominated for the prestigious Mountbatten Maritime Award for Best Literary Contribution. His next book, London's Curse: The Strange Case of Tutankhamun in the West End, will be published by IAP in 2011.

Alongside his literary work, Mark is also an award-winning filmmaker, having won the inaugural ITV London Best of Borough Audience Award for his film The Beachcombers in 2008. In 2009, he wrote the screenplay for In Passing, a short film starring Lesley Sharp and Sean Pertwee.

He lives in London with his partner, Vicky.
