biography

biog
Hi! My name is Marta Velasquez and I'm the Director of Fimdependence Ltd.

Filmdependence is what you get when you rely on video images to put across a message to your viewers, and in a world that is dominated by the media, people and companies need an outlet such as Filmdependence to show them the way forward!

I personally have found that without Filmdependence my life would be rather dull, so I dedicate myself to improve the company and work with talented people to grow quickly and encompass all areas for a complete video making service.

We presently work with MIX making videos to raise awareness for worthwhile causes, such as poverty around the world, aids orphans in Swaziland and deprived children in Romania. We also have close links with Birds Eye View Film Festival and make promos of their events including interviews with well respected artists such as Ken Loach, Jessica Stevenson and Miranda Sawyer.

We also work with various independent filmmakers making waves and forming close relationships for a happy and prosperous future.

Hasta Luego.

Marta Velasquez

ambitions
One feature movie would be great - two would be excellent - three would be fantastic! Preferably successfull movies though...
influences, inspirations and favourite films
Goddard and Truffaut films were the first to show me that film didn't necessarily had to be this tidy thing that dictates what it's audiences should think of it all. I like films that take you on a personal journey by the way one relates to what is seen on screen - therefore they need a bit of space and a lot of timing. Gondry and Cunningham, cutting edge contemporary directors made me see the possibilities of film as a game, as a creative playground to bounce ideas back and forward which although a lot of the time aesthetic and smart are just a stroke of pure genius. But who I like best is those that make me laugh and cry, the millions of documentary and comedy (or both combined) that make people in the world today a little bit more interesting by showing them what the world is all about and how we can laugh at it, or do something about it.
