Richard Penfold and Sam Hearn began their creative collaboration in 1995 at The International Film School, Wales where they realised a shared creative attitude and passion for storytelling. Following graduation they continued to work together on evenings and weekends producing music videos, title sequences, motion graphics and short films before co-establishing creative agency Omni Productions in Bristol, May 2002. Together the team have steadily built a reputation for producing emotionally engaging short films and dramas, winning most recently 1st Place the 2008 International TCM Classic Shorts competition, the prestigious UK Film Council Audience Award, The SWScreen Audience Award, the ITV West Award three times over, Best Drama at Propeller TV’s ShortFest 08 and three International Visual Communication Awards for best drama, script and music. As a result they have received considerable recognition in programmes such as BBC's Film series with Jonathan Ross and column inches on up and coming talent in The New York Times, Screen International and The Guardian. Significantly, in addition to their recent win at TCM with their powerful drama ‘Leaving’, their first short film ‘Dog Years’ has been acknowledged by the BFI as a short film of note alongside the first works of Ridley Scott, Shane Meadows and Ken Russell in their definitive guide to Britain’s film and TV history; Screen Online.
