I combine a background in science with experience of documentary, drama and live-broadcast production on locations ranging from India to Ukraine. As a freelancer, projects included the 2003 Commonwealth Vision Awards winning film “Signs of Freedom” and the multi-award-winning 2005 Oscar®-nominated short film “Little Terrorist”. In 2004, I established Clarity Productions: an award-winning independent producer of specialist factual with a strong focus on scientific, social and environmental content. In April 2007, the Company won a development deal with Channel 4 who described Clarity Productions as: “...one of Scotland’s most exciting new production companies bringing strong investigative ideas to broadcast”. In November 2007, short documentary “Losing Myself: Annie” won the BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Short Film. The Company currently has a place on the Channel 4-backed Researcher Development Programme run by TRC Glasgow. Clarity Productions was nominated in the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards 2008 and recently picked up a Jury prize at the 62nd Edinburgh International Film Festival 2008. My projects have screened at more than 120 international film festivals and work featured in The Sunday Times, The Big Issue, The Scotsman, The List, 4Ten Magazine and Shooting People’s ‘Shooters Films’. I am a graduate of the international EURODOC Producers Programme 2006 and was nominated as Scotland’s CEC Creative Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. For more info, please see: www.producingclarity.com
