synopsis
A normally sedate suburban park becomes the playground of five otherwise-ordinary members of the public hell-bent on getting in touch with their primal instincts.
Butt-sniffing action.
short fact
"My inspiration for this film was the 15 minute walk I take across my local park each morning. Usually there are a few people walking their dogs and I noticed how they often used their dogs as a method of conversation.

Often people (strangers) who would be too reserved to strike up conversation with each other found common ground in discussing their dogs. I began thinking how different life might be if we broke through the wall of inhibition that surrounds us and behaved instinctively, as dogs do.

I've always enjoyed the films of mike Leigh and in particular his fondness for taking ordinary people and placing them in extraordinary situations.

The film is also about finding a soulmate. I hope it's an optimistic film; that if we search hard enough there's someone out there for each of us."

Really liked this. It's got such an upbeat feel to it and is subtle. Very nicely acted too! It's one of the most contemporary shorts I've seen for a while. Nice.

great little film. Speaking as someone who used to shoot on super8 and now uses MiniDv, it is so nice to see that thing they call depth of field - I miss it. And it is used to such good effect here! great performances from the cast too, I'm guessing the park wasn't a closed set.

Very funny! Our modern sensitivities cringe with embarrassment at butt-sniffing as an expression of innate Biophila. I loved it.

Thank you for commenting on my film. To the person who said it wasn't snappy or funny enough, I'd say simply that I was going for a very gentle, understated humour rather than the more direct comedy you prefer. But I noted your comment with interest and am glad you liked the autumnal colour. I waited 18 months to find the right shooting day.
To those who said "100%" and "could have watched half an hour longer" I thank you from my very bottom.
