synopsis
From the ever so mournful seaside jazz soundtrack to the flickering faded home movie background, this film is a powerfully hypnotic experience.
short fact
The footage used in this film was shot entirely from a car window whilst driving through the remote landscape of Caithness, Northeast Scotland. Struck by the sheer emptiness and solitude of the area, I was inspired to find some way to hold onto the memory of things glimpsed.

would be a goddamn good opening to something: but feels too much like the door to a place rather than the place itself. MOODY VISUALS, GOOD CHOICE OF MUSIC, BUT, I don't know....leaves me unsatisfied. Would have liked it to go someplace human? Make any sense? Probably not, but there you go.

Good opening sequence to a film as it left me wanting more.

I did not understand the film at all when I first watched it, however, after reading the synopsis (which I always leave til afterwards, as I feel it colours your expectations), and viewing a second time, I can see what it's getting at.

I think that whilst the concept is excellent, visually, it was not pulled off well.
