synopsis
Barry struggles to come to terms with his redundancy. In order to occupy himself whilst apparently at work, he breaks into stranger’s houses and cleans them.

It is through this process that Barry regains a sense of harmony and purpose in his life and the strength to confront his situation.

He unwittingly becomes an angel in another couple's troubled life.
short fact
I wanted to make a film that had an ambigous narrative that was both poignant and comedic. For me it was a both a gift and a challenge to work with such a stella cast and I learnt so much from them.

This film has a special place in my heart. We had a wonderful location and fantastic cast and crew. It was a shot just before christmas and at risk of sounding corny it seemed like there was magic in the air.

Suzi Ewing and her production team give a fantastic lesson in creating depth and meaning within the frame. Although the storyline is ambiguous, this short film is a real gem.
The Director Michael Apted said that film could capture the "magic in the everyday" and there is a strong representation of this in Ewing's film.
The art direction is fully realized and the direction is patient and gracious in filming its range.
The cast roles are mostly caricatures, but the use of the moving image to soak up a creative reality enables some great acting to be achieved.
Over all, this is one of those films that, left in other hands, might have been far less successful.

excellent. a nice subtle script well produced and well acted. very charming.

however it does underline the need for us all to beef up security. i mean this intruder was benign but what about the next one, before we know it, it could be an axe wielding psychopathic terrorist waiting for us when we get home, or worse, reds under our beds. its about time people started listening to what the daily mail has to say and lets get the coppers properly tooled up.
