synopsis
A harrowing story shot through the eyes of teenager, Macy - her squalid home, aggressive mother and memories of her father who abused her.
short fact
Laters developed from an article I read on a website about the rise in teenage prostitution in the USA. Middle class girls ranging in age from 12 to 16, had been increasingly turning to prostitution in order to attain money & goods, acknowledging and treating their sexuality as a commodity. These girls managed to lead double lives, hiding their activities from parents and loved ones for months, even years.

I wanted to know what it would be like to be this sort of girl, to live her life and experience her world through her eyes.

Laters began life as ten bullet points which became ten pages of script over the course of several weeks. It was shot over two very long days on location in Lewisham Borough.

The remit set by Laters funders' and administrators was for filmmakers, "To push the boundaries of the digital format."

Laters is a very intimate film purely because of the size and flexibility of the digital technology available at the time of shooting and the quality of the post-production techniques we utilized to complete the film.

Whoa I didn't get that her dad was abusive at all.. when is that depicted?? in the last scene? Kudos for the camera work.. I've always been very interested by how closely a camera can imitate a character's POV
