synopsis
A couple on a beach are accosted by a man they've never met, with unexpected consequences.

short fact
The film is really about the spontaneous and surprising moments that can sometimes happen to us, and the fact that often in these situations people do things with much more freedom, and much less consdiration than they give things in their every day lives.

The aim was to look at that process in an amusing situation.

The irony of production was that in making a film about a car being stuck on a beach, we got quite alot of vehicles stuck in the sand ourselves.

The final tally was two cars, a van, an ambulance and three tractors stuck, and in the end we were masters of the art seen in the film.

The car seen in the film still went after its ordeal, and I drove it for a further 6 months. Even the radio still worked, trust the Japanese!

Unfortunately, someone drove into the back of it on the way to the shoot and so it failed its MOT from that damage, not from what we'd done to it, and had to be scrapped.

Professionally made for sure but the ending was underwhelming. I think we might have needed to know a little bit more about the man who drove his car into the sea, for his story to have any relevance.

Really cool idea, exactly the right length in my opinion. Too many so called short films outlive their welcome.

Who needs length? I like this film, the mood of it and I don't think its predictability detracts - seeing the car floating fully out into the water is quite impressive...

er.....too predictable, not a very good twist, and can someone tell me why this is funy enough to be rated as comedy? You need length.
