synopsis
A 90 second short about how life for a deserting Russian WWII Soldier takes a darkly comic turn.
short fact
"The biggest challenge with this film was money so we just made it as simple as possible. An actor, a landmine, a forest and an ancient bolex camera. I realised making this film that you don't need money to direct a short that gets shortlisted for awards."

Terse and economical. Somewhat reminiscent of a short made by Tony Scott in the early 70s, called ONE OF THE MISSING, that makes similar virtue of limited resources, with a similar story proposition but set during the American Civil War rather than WW2. Scott's film goes for tension and runs to around 30 minutes, if memory serves. Terser is better, I reckon.

Excellent in its Simplicity, although a little predictable. The low contrast gave the sense of WW2 and the backdrop provided the sense of lonliness and that the soldier was out of his comfort zone of the forest. Thank you.
