This film is a true work of art. My being a father surely had an effect on my intial reaction to this touching story about the strong connection and the love shared by a father and his daughter.I was on an American Airlines flight watching the in-flight movies when I first viewed this film. My wife and then two year old daughter were with me. It took me by surprise and touched me so much that I started crying right there on the plane! I couldn't help it. It's a simple, beautiful, and deeply touching story about some of the most important and real feelings in our lives; aging, longing, death, and the love shared by child and parent. I had a strong, cathartic reaction when I watched it again years later with the film causing me to realize my own strong feelings of loss that I never addressed about my then just deceased father who had abandoned me as a young child. This film is a gift to those (you know who you are) who have been touched deeply by this fine, fine film.

Wow, this short film will have a longlasting impact in my soul. Powerful. The issue of father and daughter is dear to my heart, since I have a daughter, besides my two sons. I also launched recently an organization called Father and Daughther Alliance (FADA) to mobilize fathers to bring their daughters back to school, rather than fetching water all day or getting abused and trafficked. We launched FADA in India in January, see www.fatheranddaughter.org

Very good, lovely animation, though the landscapes, for me, could have had a bit more vrariety and the ending's pretty sad and bleak, still, very nice....

With such simplicity, it can evoke so much emotion.
