synopsis
A young, cynical French film student comes to London for the weekend to make a film project for his course. Disillusioned by his London experience, he’s befriended by a stranger who shows him a side of the city, and himself, that he never would have seen. The story unfolds through his Super 8 film footage, and his voice-over narration gives us an insight into his thoughts and feelings throughout the journey.
short fact
"Whilst touring film festivals in Brazil & Montreal with my award winning short 'Attack', I came up with the idea for 'Le Weekend'. I started production the moment I landed back in London and wrote the script, shot & edited the film in five weeks."

    The High Brow
A sensitively shot, thoughtful film exploring the ambiguities of sexuality and how we exchange, share and communicate our needs and desires.

    The Low Brow
Straight, young & fit French student comes to London. Gets sucked by buff older guy in exchange for a room for the night.

    The High Brow
The Film accurately portrays the sights and sounds of London as seen through the eye of a tourist, the soundtrack interweaves naturally throughout providing a balanced and relevant soundscape to the journey we're taken on.

    The Low Brow
Banging tunes, good club scene but not enough tops off. Some nice chillout ambient vibes tho.

This wonderful movie was the highlight of the London Gay & Lesbian Film Fest 2007 for me. Rich in complexity, sexy, moving and very funny---this movie had everything I want in a short film and more. The director is one of the most talented I have found who is working in the short form. Bravo!!
