synopsis
Yoga Noga Reyoga is a simple story of being together, separated and reunited again. The two young monks have dedicated their lives to finding a Greater Unity, to see beyond their self-centred desires. However, despite such noble intentions, they become increasingly aware of the other's activities and they begin to compete, in order to be the “most Enlightened”. After a climactic race, they are ultimately left exhausted, separated and alone. Only when they come together and forgive, do they find the unity that they first sought.
short fact
"Yoga Noga Reyoga is Mrkengos’ debut film. It is the product of four and a half months self-funded work, locked away in his bedroom.

The film was primarily an exercise to self-teach 3D character animation, reading instruction manuals and trawling internet forums while it was being made. As the film evolved, it became clear that learning video-editing techniques, SFX and sound design would also be an essential part.

The idea of the “Enlightenment Competition”, born a few years previously, coupled perfectly with an ancient jungle setting inspired by a trip to Cambodia. All of the sets were built from holiday photos taken around the Angkor region during the trip."

Lovely piece of work. Simple and creative idea well executed. Impressive given that it was a self initiated learning project. Look forward to future work.

I can't believe you did this while self-teaching 3d animation! It's so well done! And very sweet!
