synopsis
A child cries, a crack addict mother tries to comfort him - This is social realism. This is Gash.
short fact
If the UK are to survive on the world cinema stage, we need to radically up our output of spirit crushing council estate based kitchen sink dramas. The more we move forward into a modern age, the more this genre becomes meaningfully representative of the masses. Everyone these days is a drug fueled crack whore who gets raped for breakfast, at least all my friends are, and so these are the stories that sorely need telling. We thought we had two options. We could make our own social realist masterpiece (1 film) or we could teach a whole generation the tricks of the trade (many films!). We went for the latter because we are generous of spirit. BAFTA have yet to thank us, but they will when they see this years crop of films!

    Very witty and funny.
By the way, did you win BAFTA for this or were they too offended?

Heh heh brilliant and absolutely spot on, particularly when i've had the misfortune to sit through Greg Hall's Kapital which adheres to every single one of the 'rules' of this piece....

Loved it. Not that often a short makes you laugh out loud.
