What do you think of our groovetastic five-piece vocal harmony group? Can they bring home the Eurovision for us?

Leave your thoughts about the boys in this thread.

If the Emperors of Soul can't bring home the Eurovision, then no one can. They look amazing, sound amazing and are in a league of their own. A true class act.

I think Emperors of Soul are excellent, but are they different enough to make Britain stand out at the Eurovision.

I feel to give a true multi-cultural twist, try adding Charlotte to the group.

EOS would be a risky one, I am not sure it's as much as a popularity contest as it is a singing one certainly where eurovision is concerned, I just don't think they have the "ESC Factor"

They are a talented bunch of guys but they simply will not get anywhere in eurovision. Israel 2006 tried a soul-vibe and did rubbish, last year we sent andy with a soul/funk song and look where that got us!!!

They are my favourite act! I think Webber's magical talent will give them the best song ever to be sung in Eurovision as a group artists, including with sexy dancers!

Emporers of Soul bring home the Eurovision you are joking they wouldnt stand a chance in hell in the contest. Think about it how many black people have ever won Eurovision, to my re-collection NONE. All the eastern block countries are racist they make ape sounds at our black footballers and refused to give Andy Abraham a single point last year even when he clearly had one of the best songs. So who do we have as one of our final 6, a group of black men. I'm not racist but if they're our entry we will come last again without doubt because the racist Eastern Europeans wont vote for black singers no matter how good the song is or how good they are!

Frankly, Andy can sing very well but the song was not good and his body language and audience impact were not great - he doesnt have a charisma! I wish the runner-up last year won the UK selection.

Umm...Estonia 2001, Dave Benton was black. And I'm sorry but 'Even if' was a poor song, not sung by a bad singer tho!

This group of talented men won't stand a chance in Russia. They are a brilliant 'man' band, lovely voices and full of talent but Europe is full of racist and homophobic countries who won't vote for them. Sorry, but its true.

Must admit I forgot about the guy from Estonia, apologies, still doesnt alther the fact that Emporers of Soul will undoubtedly be in the bottom 3 if they are our entry, No matter who writes the song just an opinion mind...

I agree Europe is full of a load of racist cultures although they may be amazing I dont think there will be any place in the top 20 for them.

I really don't understand why Sir ALW chose EOS as one of his final six and why they are still in the show. Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong but a soul band/song has never done well in ESC. Last year we entered Andy Abrahams with what I thought was a good soul/dance song and look where we ended up! As for Europeans being homophobic, I don't believe that for a minute. The Eurovision Song Contest is and always has been the biggest "campfest" in the world!

The Emperors of Soul are an amazing group of guys, all very talented and together make a wonderful sound and are an entertaining group. With the right song in the competion they could go far for us this year.
Are they right for eurovision? That is not really the right question. We should be asking "Is the United Kingdom right for eurovision?" The voting in the past has always been very political with countries voting for their neighbours rather than the song and even stating that fact when anouncing their scores. I am sure that if the acts were using their own names or even just numbers rather than their country names the outcome of the scoring system might be very different.

I don't think eos will win firstly because they were in the "danger zone" last night, but secondly they seem really old fashioned as they sing really old songs but fail to put a new twist on them.

They will be dangerzone with the twins next week, and he will save the twins, so the right balance for the final...
A group
A femle soloist
A male soloist

And who would of thought that winkeye

What glitterbugaboo said! smiley

I actually like EOS better than Mark but not by much.

As to whether "the UK is right for Eurovision", that's the wrong question. Russia won last year by entering the biggest name in the Eastern European pop scene. I'm sure if the UK entered a big name act(Lost Prophets? Coldplay?) they would get votes.

Problem is, the competition has a stigma in this country, I suspect partly due to the over-political voting in the past, and partly due to the fact that it's aired on Radio 2 who have an audience the acts mentioned above may not be interested in.

I think the UK does not need to send another circus artist to the eurovision! The last few years entrys like the air hostess simply talking is making the United Kingdom look like a joke. The Emperors Of Soul will bring quality to eurovision. If they send Jade she will just get lost in the crowd, she is not silly, but she is not quality either. She will most likely not win because she can't hit any notes! She's flat! Now if you wanna continue to make us laugh here on the other side of the ocean and makes us think the UK is a circus then send the twins or Marksmiley!
