Sorry but I have to agree with this one, I'm terrified of them.
My sister's teenage boys wear hoodies, and although I know they are kind generous lads, when I see strangers in them I get scared.
What's the motive in wearing one, if not to hide the face? Why would somebody want to do that?
I dunno.

B's mom, don't be sorry, I too agree, in most circumstances that is, there's no reason for these 'masks' to be worn most of the time, except with criminal intent, and to intimidate!

so, why the "<doh>" then, wandy? Could it be that your anti-PC knee jerked before you had actually thought about what you were <doh>ing about? Surely not...

V.T. get back into your little box and stop interfering with people who like to have proper debate. Barneysmom. Izzy doesn't like hoodies either. Finally got her to stop barking at everyone we meet on our walks and she embarrasses me by barking at a couple of hoodies we met yesterday. To be fair. I was negotiating the thicket in a local wood (like to go off the beaten track sometimes in order to satisfy an adventurous mood). I'd called her when she started barking before I met up with the lads but, I hadn't leashed her by the time we reached the proper pathway. They were very patient. Stood still while I encouraged her to sit quietly and allow me to put on her lead. Meanwhile , one of the lads was stroking Ronnie and telling him that he used to have a Jack Russell.

Pom thinks Izzy may be right. They were up to no good. Probably been joy riding.

I wonder if we'll be seeing reports like this again?

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/...

Then there was the woman recovering from chemo, who was told to remove her hood (in ASDA, I think?)

Of course, these:

news.bbc.co.uk/media...

Will be acceptable.

If I ever encounter anyone who meets that description, I'll be sure and get out of the way. Until then, there's just wandy making what he apparently seriously believes are clever comparisons between hoodies and burkhas...

It's time to follow Holland's lead, and ban these: (Burkhas)

Much though I admire Wandy's observations and subsequent postings (Does V.T. ever start a thread?)I really think that is a bit strong to suggest that making a comparison between hoodies and burkhas is clever.
Izzy hasn't come accross a burkha yet but Pom will be sure to keep her on a short lead and warn the wearer to watch out for their ankles. Bad Dog!

This is not the first time burkhas have been used to commit a crime...
Robbers use burkha to trick shop staff

I'm impressed V.T. You had some replies from some very eminent posters too. Can't remember why I didn't.<erm>

Pom says let's keep British Summer Time all year round.
