I am just writing at the moment just to get round the thought that the BBC messageboards will end next week. What to write about I just dont know . But write I must .Over the four years that I have been on the boards I have talked and laughed and sometimes been angry and sometimes been sad and sometimes never stopped laughing. Every subject in the world must have been discussed from Ned Kellys body armour to Clive of India's Tortoise . I remember so well starting and made a joke about manchester and the world fell in . I was all for packing in. I was Childwall Riots then but gave it up as my ears never stopped burning. But soon after changing my name thinks got better and was often joining in on Jaqs place the humour on there was great and of cause loved Yodell my mentor who as well as being very witty was a brilliant Liverpool Historian.
I continually in the early days had scurmishes with Rob (but who hasnt ) . Loved the Poetry stuff with Derby and Tettie. And 'whats the weather like by you' thing that went on for ever .Missed been at public school and the foreign legion with Hampton. Will miss my Aussie mate Bazza wiil hope one day to run into him in Woolton.
Miss Ratchel from Toxteth and Jane from Bournmouth will miss Pom and her brilliant posts. And Astro the greatest lady poster from The Isle of Man who always laughed at my jokes even though they were rubbish. I for one will miss you all even Dizzy my neighbour and not for getting Lollo (who could ) and Mr Sec , Norant and lots of other great contributors. Karl Fresco who was on . these boards long before me and of cause the BBC Staff who had to monotor my ramblings will miss you all . retirement will not be the same without you.

Have a great life ,

Alan Amp

Awwww Amp - that sounds so final :-( Get yourself over onto Tet's Board, I miss your daft threads!! I remember the first time you and I spoke properly on here and you were talking about pebble-dashing restaurant patrons with peas and I thought you were being serious <laugh> that was when I learned how to work out your humour and I love it, waiting to see what you would come up with next <biggrin>

Apart from, that is, when you shouted: 'ROB - ASTRO'S BACK' <laugh>

BTW, your jokes aren't rubbish - they can't be: they appeal to my sense of humour ;-)
