I would like to say a big thank you to Martyn Coote for the 10 years he has been on 3CR. I first heard the radio station one weekday morning when I woke up earlier than usual and couldn't sleep so as I had bought a personal stereo decided now was the time to tune it in. I scanned the stations and came across a man with a lovely voice reading out a competition, I had to stay tuned and listen for the answer!! I tuned into The Early Riser for several years and would like to thank Martyn for the wonderful friends I made due to his Christmas Card swapping! I miss those days as there is nothing like it on the radio now. It is a very bad mistake to take Martyn off air I do hope he gets snapped up by another radio station. Good Luck Martyn in whatever you do

Likewise, Thank you Martyn. Remember the afternoon in the the car park when Annie and I did the Easter Egg delivery, it was like The Marx Brothers and those famous words :- Buy a Harley buy the best ride a mile and walk the rest. Take good care mate.

6 years ago I too, during a sleepless night, discovered Martyn on the Early Riser. It was compulsive listening and from then on until Martyn went on to another show, my alarm was set for 4.30am so as not to miss the warmth and friendliness which exuded from his programme with him and his regular listeners .

Thanks for the great shows Martyn, for all the hard work you have put into your job, for the really good OBs which got me out and about to visit many places in the three counties ie The Anglian Wolf Society and some beautiful areas I would never have otherwise known about. That walk around Sharpenhoe Clappers one early April morning was unforgettable!

Good Luck and lotsa happiness in the future

:)

Number 1 in giving the people of the 3cr area a type of local radio they enjoy and find totaly interesting, with the listener your first concern.
Number 1 at presenting all types of programmes and doing a good job at it,such as the Consumer programme and Out and About.
Number 1 at turning Drivetime into the one and only programme I actualy listen to on BBC 3cr at the moment into a decent well put together News programme.
Number 1 presenter and one of the few presenters that have kept 3cr going over these past dire months.
Good luck for the future and how about teaming up with John Pilgrim perhaps on another radio station such as BBC radio Northampton, being BBC 3cr do not know talent when they see it.

I will be very sad to leave Three Counties its been 13 years in total and I have had a ball working with some of the most talented people in the radio world, I hope that one day I will get the chance to be part of it again those who have followed me from the days of the Early Riser must need medication to have stuck with me for so long. Three Counties will go on to more great things I am sure

I'm sure that many of the posters have said just how much they are going to miss Martyn and his style, despite the "keep the Coote" campaign he is still going.

I'm hoping that Mark Norman will find a slot for Martyn in the near future even if its not a daily programme.

Good Luck with whatever you do in the future Martyn.

They will move on to great things? Well your being diplomatic, but I would have to disagree with that statement. They can find places for a few no talents ( I won't mention any names such as Chris Bolton) but they can't find a place for a class act like you?? They also have a quality broadcaster in Andy Gelder as well, and I love Treasure Quest ,AND he's made it his own,but someone of his quality, and like yourself, should be on the radio more.
Some of the decisions made by 3 Cr have been diasterous, putting it mildly.
Come back soon, even though I don't agree with alot of your politics, your a good guy,and a pleasure to listen to.
All the best

The fact that he probably isn't a morning person and is a bit cranky at that time of day, makes for great radio.I'll give Rhodes a chance but I don't like him very much and I think I'll be turning over eventually.Rob was great on breakfast.Just the kind of start to my day that I want. Not too heavy and good humoured.Rhodes ( Keannan) is a different kettle of sh..er I mean fish.

Marytn, just to say thank you, too. I agree with all the sentiments expressed here and shall miss listening to you on the radio. I wish you all the best for the future, and hope you keep fond memories of your time at 3CR and the people you entertained.
